UrbaChina conference in Rome

The first URBACHINA international conference was held in Rome on May 28-June 1, 2012; this event, organized by ISIS (Institute of Studies for the Integration of Systems) gathered every member of the consortium.

Each team had the opportunity to present to the audience progress achieved during the first year of URBACHINA program. Members were able to discuss on the principle of sustainable development on the basis of their first research results. Several Fieldtrips have already been performed by Sino-European research teams in the four studied cities (Shanghai, Chongqing, Kunming and Huangshan).

The Scientific committee showed great interest for this program. all agreed to devote some of their precious time on this conference, gave valuable insights to URBACHINA members. (sustainable development)

URBACHINA members took part to several visits organized by Roma Servizi per la Mobilità, to better understand some European urban realisations. After a presentation made by Mr. Andrea Sciotti on the new subway line of Rome, members visited two new stations of the metro: Jonio and Conca d’Oro.

The afternoon session was held on the Risorse per Roma headquarter where Umberto Mosso, presented the current strategy of the city of Rome to attract sustainable investment funds.
